Lyndon Urquhart -
General Manager: Petroleum Services

Lyndon’s early career
started as an electrical tradesman managing his own
electrical contracting business for 10 years. He
later joined the Royal Australian Navy attaining the
qualification of Electronics Technician
(Communication).
After leaving the Navy he worked as a Logistics
Engineer for Thomson Radar Australia Corporation
performing LSA tasks including segment/product
management for B&CW, IRDS, PSN, AFTN, VSCS and
EUROCAT on the Australian Advanced Air Traffic
System (TAAATS) After promotion with Thomson Radar
(which changed name to Airsys-ATM after procuring
Siemens), Lyndon became Customer Service Manager
responsible for Repairs, Spares, Installations,
Maintenance and Training on a global scale looking
after a budget of 3MAUD with an after sales
expectation of 5MAUD. Again Promoted, Lyndon became
Technical Training Manager based on his EUROCAT SME
status and after obtaining a DipED in his own time,
training students globally in Air Traffic Control
Maintenance. Lyndon’s final role with Thales-ATM was
as a Project Manager, managing facilities
maintenance contracts globally individually for
projects up to 10MAUD or as a team on others up to
400MAUD.
Lyndon joined UMS in 2004 as a Contract Manager,
managing a portfolio of building and facilities
maintenance contracts along with capital works
delivery to a value of 7MAUD predominately in the
western region of Melbourne. Lyndon was promoted to
Operations Manager - Facilities in March 2006
looking after a team of 65 staff with a cumulative
value of 20MAUD. In Feb 2007, Lyndon was promoted
into his current role of General Manager responsible
for the Petroleum Business Unit of UMS. In this role
Lyndon has complete autonomy of the P&L / Balance
sheet whilst reporting to the CEO.
Lyndon’s skill set is extensive and includes the
trades, communications, integrated logistics,
education, sales and marketing, contract, project
and financial management, all underpinned by his two
diplomas in Education and Business (Marketing).
